Question by carla: What is a 1892 gold coin (double eagle) worth?
I have a 1892 gold coin and i want to know how much it is worth. it has been circulated however is in good condition.

Best answer:

Answer by liberty 911
The coin may have a mint mark below the eagle's tail feathers: S (San Francisco), CC (Carson City), or plain (Philadelphia). If you have an authentic coin, it would be worth over 00 even if it is circulated. I recommend getting it certified by one of the major coin grading services (i.e.: PCGS, NGC, ANACS, etc.). The gold would be worth 0 or so. I hope that helps.

Question by OK: How much would this gold coin sell for? It's made in 1904 and it says "twenty dollars". Is it worth more now?
On the front it has a head with "Liberty" on the person's crown. There are 13 stars going around the coin.

On the back it "United States of America Twenty Dollars" with "in god we trust"...

I don't know what it's called it's just a 20 dollar coin made in 1904! my grandad gave it to me. how much would it be worth now?

Answer by Jerry
Assuming that the coin is genuine, it is worth a lot more. Compare it to the coins shown in the link below (navigate using the large arrows). That will give you a rough idea of condition.

Based on gold content alone, it is worth at least 00. If it is in near-perfect condition, possibly more.

Do not rub the coin. Only handle it by the edges. Never clean a coin as it destroys value.

You haven't furnished enough information to be able to put a value on the coins - you need the following: what the coin is, when the coin was minted, where the coin was minted and the condition. You have furnished what the coin is, the date minted, not furnished the mint where the coin was minted nor the condition. The mint will be "no mint", "D" for Denver, "S" for San Francisco, "O" for New Orleans, "CC" for Carson CIty and if it has one - it will be different places on each coin. The condition given is not enough to grade the coin for value - doesn't meet the grading requirements as is presently used. My advice is to take them to a coin dealer whom can determine the grade of the coin and give you a valuation.

Question by Mary: What are these two double eagle gold coins worth?
Hello,
I'm trying to find the actual value for two Double Eagle gold coins I own. The 1st is a 1914s Saint Gaudens, and the 2nd is a 1900 Liberty Head gold piece. Both coins have been graded by PCGS, and both received MS-64 grades. I'm trying to find the wholesale value of these coins. In other words, how much could I expect to receive for each coin if I sold them to a coin dealer?. I looked in the blue book for U.S. coins, but they only list these 2 coins in MS-63 grade.

How can I best determine the actual worth of these two coins?. Does anyone know the answer?. Thank you for your time.

Question by Brandon Damron: How much is a 1933 Gold Double Eagle Proof Coin worth?
i need money and i found these coins in my closet and i want to sell them

Best answer:

Answer by redlemon65
Well, since there were five of them in existence and all of them have been accounted for, your coin(s) (made up your mind) are if you have any are copies (fakes) and not worth the metal they are made of. I have 8 of them and each one says "Copy" on the reverse side. Lots of luck in selling them.

Assuming it's the bullion version (more about that in a moment), it's got 1/10 of an ounce of gold in it, which would bring you a little less than the "spot" value of the gold, which at today's price is about 4. If you sell it, the dealer will probably pay you about 10% less than that, so I would say that anything around 5 to 0 would be reasonable.

If yours is not a bullion coin, then it's what is called a "proof" coin. Those are easy to distinguish--the proof coins will have a mirror-like field, and "frosty" designs, while a bullion version would have no difference in texture between the field and the design. If it's a proof (and assuming you're talking about a US coin), you'll probably get around 0 for it.

Those values are just estimates--a dealer might legitimately give you a little less if he's got a lot in stock.

Question by Christian Collins: I have a 1873 s gold double eagle and need to know what its worth. Have any ideas?

Answer by Chief
Ebay has some gold coins for sell and I guess Amazon does too. Check them out. Also, you could take the coins to several jewelry stores or coin collectors (not pawn shops) in your area and get it appraise. I heard on TV that a lot of people are not getting full value when they send their gold & silver in the mail to those advertise on TV. If you need more info, click my picture.

Some of the coins you list are just worth face value (for example, the presidential dollar, or the 1999 euro, unless they're uncirculated). You don't give enough information for us to tell about some of the others. Coin values vary dramatically according to the condition of the coin.

To get a general idea of what your coins are worth, search for coins like them on eBay and see what they're selling for. The only way to get an accurate estimate of what your coins are worth is to have them examined IN PERSON by an expert.

Question by viking_no3: Any idea how much a 1924 double eagle gold piece is worth?
I'm just curious as to it's value. It was my mom's and was given to me after she passed away in 1995. It was minted on the same year as her birth. I'm not thinking of selling it. Just curious as to its value. I think those coins were 22k and it is on a long heavy 18k gold chain.
