Question by Mary: What are these two double eagle gold coins worth?
Hello,
I'm trying to find the actual value for two Double Eagle gold coins I own. The 1st is a 1914s Saint Gaudens, and the 2nd is a 1900 Liberty Head gold piece. Both coins have been graded by PCGS, and both received MS-64 grades. I'm trying to find the wholesale value of these coins. In other words, how much could I expect to receive for each coin if I sold them to a coin dealer?. I looked in the blue book for U.S. coins, but they only list these 2 coins in MS-63 grade.

How can I best determine the actual worth of these two coins?. Does anyone know the answer?. Thank you for your time.

Question by Brandon Damron: How much is a 1933 Gold Double Eagle Proof Coin worth?
i need money and i found these coins in my closet and i want to sell them

Answer by redlemon65
Well, since there were five of them in existence and all of them have been accounted for, your coin(s) (made up your mind) are if you have any are copies (fakes) and not worth the metal they are made of. I have 8 of them and each one says "Copy" on the reverse side. Lots of luck in selling them.

Assuming it's the bullion version (more about that in a moment), it's got 1/10 of an ounce of gold in it, which would bring you a little less than the "spot" value of the gold, which at today's price is about 4. If you sell it, the dealer will probably pay you about 10% less than that, so I would say that anything around 5 to 0 would be reasonable.

If yours is not a bullion coin, then it's what is called a "proof" coin. Those are easy to distinguish--the proof coins will have a mirror-like field, and "frosty" designs, while a bullion version would have no difference in texture between the field and the design. If it's a proof (and assuming you're talking about a US coin), you'll probably get around 0 for it.

Those values are just estimates--a dealer might legitimately give you a little less if he's got a lot in stock.

Ebay has some gold coins for sell and I guess Amazon does too. Check them out. Also, you could take the coins to several jewelry stores or coin collectors (not pawn shops) in your area and get it appraise. I heard on TV that a lot of people are not getting full value when they send their gold & silver in the mail to those advertise on TV. If you need more info, click my picture.

Question by viking_no3: Any idea how much a 1924 double eagle gold piece is worth?
I'm just curious as to it's value. It was my mom's and was given to me after she passed away in 1995. It was minted on the same year as her birth. I'm not thinking of selling it. Just curious as to its value. I think those coins were 22k and it is on a long heavy 18k gold chain.

Question by The Specialist CCC, Inc.: How does someone get free information on the value of an 1858 Flying eagle copper/nickel 1 cent coin?
I have recently obtained an incomplete indian head cent coin collection from the mid 1800s. I am interrested in learning more about the coins and their (hopeful) value. How does someone get free information on the value of a rare coin like an 1858 Flying eagle copper/nickel 1 cent coin? I speak/read great english, however, my experience with answers on here leaves me asking for more clarification. Please be clear in your answer so we may understand and make a decission on what to do in confidence. THANK YOU!

Answer by Taiping
There are 2 1858 flying eagle cents, one is the large letter variety (the A and M in America are joined together) and the small letter variety ( the A and M are separated). The total mintage of both types is 24,600,000. The mint did not keep track of how many of each design were struck but going by the values there seems to be less small letter variety for it is worth a little more. You also have it wrong for the coin is far from rare, in fact it is not even scarce. It's value is kept up some due to the fact it is need as a type coin, for people putting type sets together. You also will get only a clear answer here when a numismatist has the time to answer your questions. In listing values here I will list the large letter variety first then the small letter. As for grading there is really not enough room here to go over that and give lessons. To grade it myself i would need to see it. In grade good ,, in grade fine , , in grade very fine , and in grade extra fine 0,. the coin of course if worth a lot more if in mint state. Hope this helps. Quick grading guide good-all details worn but readable, fine-eagle head details and feather tips sharp, and as up go up in grade you have more detail in the feathers.
